A Friend, a Soul mate, a Leader

April 5, 1959September 25, 2003

A smile we remember with those blue eyes, casting out such joy.  When the Beach was young so was he, full of life and energy – he made this place spin, be it living in Versace’s yet-to-be castle or ushering the party folks into Club Warsaw.  As the pace of BeachSouth quicken, so did Kevin’s enjoyment of his friends and favors.

Good -natured and selfless – he saw that others always had a good time.  His company was sought by those who knew him and those who didn’t.  He gave joy to all, and the music all about grew stronger still.

Several times judgment called him back from the edge – and soon a love of his life came upon the Sands.  He loved with so much gusto – and with much gusto did they live in the party up and down the Coast. Gary

When HIV roared its ugly head and split these lovers with untimely death, our friend Kevin felt he too had passed away with the winds.  Many rough days followed hence – but our beloved Kevin was so strong that up he rose.Gary

As he gained strength and confidence, he reached out his hand and helped many a friend.  As he built his soul, he helped build a ladder for so many to climb and shine.

Now Kevin really hit his prime. His glow was felt all over the Beach.  His warmth, loyalty and friendly air blew far and wide.  His energy lifted us to new heights as he himself obtained so much.  Love was the currency that propelled this new high.

We are now left asking ourselves why this friend, this soul mate, this leader, took the path he did.  Our hearts still ache, our eyes still bleed, but our love and respect for him still glow with the warmth of each setting sun.  He’ll be a fabric of all our lives ‘til the day WE die.  For a friend like Kevin is a jewel you just don’t find any day.

We are so lucky that this wonderful man was on the sands of this place for all of us to share and love.

Good-bye, my friend, my Kevin dear.
