• Florida's Baker Act - This act permits friends, family and local law enforcement agencies to compel individuals assessed to be a "danger to themselves or seriously neglectful to themselves" to enter a medical facility (receiving facility) for 72 hours under the defined conditions.
• • Baker Act Receiving Facilities (selected) - Local facilities can also be used.
• Miami - Dade County  Juvenile Assessment  - The JAC’s National Demonstration Project has identified the need to provide training and technical support to the Miami-Dade juvenile justice provider community.
• Miami - Dade Police Department -  Assists in departmental programs and cooperates with other agencies in dealing with social, medical, and psychological problems such as domestic crises, alcoholism, attempted suicides, and other emotional disturbances.

National Organizations

• Gay & Lesbian National Hotline is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that is dedicated to meeting the needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and those questioning their sexual orientation and gender identity. We are an outgrowth of the Gay & Lesbian National Hotline, which began in 1996 and now is a primary program of the GLBT National Help Center.
• Lambda Legal - Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.
