What is the GLBT Suicide Awareness Initiative

The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Suicide Awareness Initiative (GLBTSAI) is operated by Switchboard of Miami, a not-for-profit organization providing 24/7 trilingual  across a wide range of  issues including  crisis management.

GLBT Suicide Awareness Initiative is a specific program within the Switchboard of Miami whose mission is to save lives by raising awareness of depression, suicide and other mental health related issues that impact the GLBT community in Miami-Dade and surrounding counties.

The two major objectives of the Initiative are to:

• Bring the topic of suicide out of the closet in the GLBT community
• Provide suicide information and prevention services to both those in need and friends of those in need.
